Car park is fine but at weekends all the locals park and picnic on the grass area in the front of the pub ...so we moved in the afternoon and joined them.pub is good 5 local real ales nice garden and a hidden garden as well.food looked ok but had run out of beef on the Sunday....having said that it was a glorious day and they were really busy.there are no signs to say don't park on the grass that I could find.

Stayed 2 nights recently, whilst needing to find somewhere near to where we were having an a frame fitted to towcar. Great parking, plenty of space for MHs, although fair amount of rubbish, despite the litter bins, as someone else commented. Great dog walking area and enjoyable seeing the ponies on tethers on the Heath. Cars came and went, but quiet overnight, no problems. Went to Nostell Priory (National Trust) just a few miles away.

Arrived nearly midnight but coords took us straight to huge car park. No other vehicles and what a lovely view we woke up to. Huge green common with quite a few tethered horses, great area to walk the new puppy. As previous comments - lots of rubbish unfortunately but quiet location for an overnight. Headed for Nostell Priory NT.

We visited this site August 2015 on a Sunday. Lovely large parking areas. Lots of tethered mares on the common in front of us with their foals roaming loose but all staying close to their own mum's. Visited the local pub, The Kings Arms, quaint old pub with very friendly staff. We were too late for Sunday meal but they offered around the leftover yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes as they had run out of roast beef, if these were anything to go off the meal must have been delicious.Back to the motorhome for 7-30 to enjoy a peaceful evening with one other motorhome joining us, a lovely nights sleep followed with no disturbance at all. Lots of various walking opportunities could have been enjoyed in the morning but unfortunately we had to rush off as we had an appointment to keep.

Access was OK with a 10m RV, but we missed the turning first time and had to go around the block which was interesting and took half an hour! As you see the green, take the very first turning and the car park is only 50m
on the right. Empty when we arrived, so we parked in the middle. We made the most of the autumn sun and sat outside the pub for a couple. Then showered and went back for dinner. Food and real ale were both great, portions on the set meal were massive. Back to the van by 10.30 to see a car with its lights on under the trees on the far side. Unfortunately, loads of cars came and went in the next hour and a half, don't know if we spoiled the party! After that a really good nights sleep and amazing to wake up and see all the ponies nearby on the fields and untethered on the green.

Spent a night here on a Saturday in October. It was busy into the late evening with families etc walking. We were surprised at the amount of rubbish in the car park considering there are 4 bins by the exit. We did our Litter pick (our wild camping pay back) and seen a polish family do the same as well. But over night the Mcdonals fairies came and scattered all their rubbish back over the nice clean car park. There where cars coming and going over night but nothing to worry about .

Wildcamping location in free car park on common ground in Heath which is a small village on the outskirts of Wakefield. We had a quiet, trouble free night after attending a party at the Kings Arms pub which is on the opposite side of the green and is a great old English independent pub serving a variety of real ales (Silver King went down nice) and good food. The pub still has the original working gas lights.
Popular dog walking location so plenty of people arriving and departing during the day but quiet at night.
