Second visit, 3+ years after the first, both times in low season. First time we were the only touring outfit there. This time we were one of three. All was fine, but we do wonder how people cope in high season, with just one male, and one female, shower facility, and similarly limited toilets. The nearby Star pub remains excellent for food and drink. Campsite now £35 a night with electric.View all reviews by Bobdog

Quiet site in late September. Friendly and helpful assistants in shop. Clean showers and toilet facilities but washing up area could be cleaner. Good site for visiting Framlington Castle and Southwold. Also a well placed site for riding some of the Sustrans cycle routes. Lovely English wine too from a vineyard near the castle.View all reviews by jaynewoods

More of a campsite than an overnight stopover but would use again off season. Great shop has everything, great clean facilities. Great local pubs but we used The Queens Head 5 mins drive which had Fantastic food great service. Site is quiet but guests may not be, noise until 1am. Hence would only stop over again off season when no kids about. Some great walks around. On site village shop. Friendly staff. Slight slope sideways but well drained sandy grass pitches. Recommended. We paid £25 the night.View all reviews by MiliMorris

Beautifully kept site, some pitches sloping slightly. Very clean facilities and a well stocked shop which is also the village store. Buses available to Southwold about 15mins walk away.View all reviews by lesw

Site mainly given over to about 30 timber holiday ‘lodges’. There are 16 generous grass pitches, each with its own water supply and electric, for tourers. The campsite shop doubles as a village shop, and is very well stocked compared to most. The site is very gently sloping and very well kept, and there are seperate play areas. A ‘nature trail’ has grassy areas where a picnic could be taken in tranquility. Showers and toilets, while immaculate, are very limited in number. If you have your own facilities, no problem. Loads of walks nearby on the common, and 10 minutes stroll away is a truly excellent village pub, The Star! About 20 minutes drive to the coast at Southwold or Dunwich.View all reviews by Bobdog
