Really liked this site. Although two thirds of the site was closed off for the month we still found that there was plenty of room for us. Facilities were very good, clean and tidy and the wooded location added to the experience. Great walks to Coniston which was about 40 minutes away on foot with the dog, one along the lake and the other along a disused railway track. There was a couple of tight corners on the A road approach but if you take it slow it should be ok.View all reviews by PhilAl

The staff are very welcoming and helpful, and the site is very quiet. The facilities are immaculate. A food van is there most nights with fish and chips, pizza etc. It is a downhill walk to the lake.View all reviews by Mindy
However most pitches are unlevel, and because there are trees all around, there is no chance of seeing those beautiful mountains and lake.
The surrounding roads are not for the faint hearted.

Great site with all facilities spotlessly clean and well maintained. Beautiful walk to Coniston village through fields with views of the lake. Would recommend Bluebird Café on the lake, dog friendly, beautiful views and good food for reasonable prices. There's also a good Indian restaurant (BYOB) in Coniston village (Sara's?). Site was busy the weekend we were there but we still managed to find a nice level spot.View all reviews by maggielilly

Difficult one to review...... The location I believe is more suited to caravan owners where the car can be used to view a wider area of the Lakes. The site itself is spread over a large area with just about every pitch in trees, and the majority are not flat, so ramps definately required. There are many walks in the area but most will be challenging, other than walking into Coniston or Torver. We spent 6 nights here in May and it was too long for us. I would visit again but only for 2 or 3 nights. As all CMC sites found the facilities good and staff welcoming, friendly and helpful.View all reviews by keithtrish

This is a large site, but, in January, only partially open, and, it was definitely not crowded. Usual CAMC standard of facilities, however the layout of the site means it is more informal than most CAMC sites, with pitches mostly grouped in small clearings in the trees. For those who need it O2 and 3 good signal. Some EHU bollards have TV points. Approximately 1 mile walk to village, mostly along traffic free path. Several pubs with meals nearby (1 mile). A "winter discount" meant £16/night.View all reviews by kenreay

Typical CAMC facilities, which could not be faulted in the slightest.View all reviews by kiteman
The need for ramps and/or levels appears to be needed here so make sure you have them packed.
The walk to Torver is quite non descript so unless you need to do it I would not bother.
The walk into Coniston via the lake is much much better one...............but the walk back via the road is in the dark so take torches.
Be warned that the route to and from the site, even though on A roads, are quite tight.

I’ve just spent two nights at the Coniston Park Coppice club site and disappointed would be an understatement to be honest.I booked it after reading reviews online that rave about it and can only assume that these were written by people who enjoy car parks. You could be absolutely anywhere because every single pitch I saw is surrounded by trees (yes I know it’s called coppice but come on) and no grass anywhere.View all reviews by sibantam
All I can say is that I’m glad I’d only booked for two nights.

Well spaced pitches dotted amongst the trees. We were down the bottom near the lake . We walked to coniston by the lake and also heading out from the top of the site through an old railway line. Lovely views. Site has good facilities and a shop if you need a paper etc. As others said last bit of road quite narrow need to take care .View all reviews by lainey54

The location for walking is very good, easy walk into Coniston along the lake or into Torver where there are 2 good pubs, both dog friendly.View all reviews by Wanderwell124
Personally I dont like this site, the pitches are all hard grey dolomite/slate, not very level and surronded by trees. Its very shady and dark.
Some of the pitches are on their own which is nice as others are in cul de sacs and a bit close together. When you arrive you are asked to drive around and choose a pitch, they give you a map.
There are plenty of showers and MH service points.
Would we stay here again....probably not, no view from your pitch and too many trees blocking the daylight.

A fabulous site in a great location. Stayed here last week (April 18) when the weather was great so we were able to walk into Coniston by the lake side walk. The site is quiet, clean and the pitches are well spaced apart. We could have been there on our own it was that quiet and peaceful. Only complaint is that we could stay longer. Beware though that either of the 2 approach roads from the south are very narrow in places and not for the faint hearted.View all reviews by smcgirr

Large site with several amenity blocks around. 40 minute walk to Coniston, easiest and safest way is down through the site and along the lake shore. Some pitches sloping so may need levelling blocks but lots of level pitches available, wardens willing to advise. In amongst woodland, felt as though we were wild camping with some other vans. Small play areas for children. Good amount of space between pitches.View all reviews by dollydaydream84

Lovely tree surrounded site. Lots of pitches. Good facilities as ever with CMC. 40 min brisk walk into the town where there are plenty of pubs and little individual shops, petrol station and food store. Beautiful view of Coniston Water and the mountains. Highly recommendedView all reviews by ptorbet

This is my favourite Caravan Club site. I go several times a year. There is fishing down at the lake. Plenty of walking, ideal if you have a dog. There is a very good chip shop in the village, Petrol Station with a Spar Shop for your forgotten items. Good food at the pub on the left hand side in the village itself. The site is ideal for days out to Ulverston and exploring the surrounding areas. It is open all year round, the toilets and showers are the Cleanest I have ever seen on a Caravan Site. There is also a Launderette adjacent to each toilet block. I normally stay for ten days at a time here. Each pitch has a TV Aerial Point.View all reviews by jeffery525

Very big site on National Trust land. We chose lower pitches y the lake, a long uphill walk to reception. Facilities up to the normal club standard. We arrived on a very wet day and the pitch was very wet, it drained very quickly when the rain stopped. Nice walk to the village from the lower gate. Village small but nice, the "Bluebird Cafe" at the waterside is very popular, we didn't eat, only had a coffee but their food has a good reputation.View all reviews by captgeoff
