A delightful location with a very laid back atmosphere. No one on site when we arrived and no other vans, so we just picked one of the 10 or so spaces and hooked up. Site is at a Tulip farm and surrounded by flat open countryside, ideal for easy cycling. We arrived probably a few weeks too early to appreciate the site at its best, as it is surrounded by Tulip fields but none where in bloom when we visited. The facilities are excellent for an aire, with the shower, toilet etc in the separate Greenhouse block. Each pitch has electric points (6 amps) but you will need a two pin plug adaptor, every other pitch has a water point. Free wifi available with a good enough signal for a bit of facetime and catching up on emails. All this for just 9€ per night (plus tax) is a bargain for a site in Holland.View all reviews by admin
Sandra the host is very welcoming and took us on a tour of the tulip greenhouses explaining in great detail how the production process works and you would not believe the effort and technology required to grow the tulips and get them to the shops in perfect condition, each and every tulip is x-rayed to check its condition and length!
There are a couple of supermarkets in Wieringerwerf (approx 1km away) including Lidl and Deen.
If your van is over 3m in height and approaching from the main A7, there is a sign for the site on the island which you should follow as your sat nav will probably take you under a bridge which has a 3m height limit.
