New facilities, friendly staff. They sell bus tickets into the town and very helpful with direction. The Stables bar is Ok, book for the pub room, the other room is like a cafe. I will use it again.

Lovely park with really good amenities. Laundry facilities are expensive, but I suggest you hand wash your clothes in the laundry sink and then use the free spin machine. Hang clothes in van to dry. There are numerous drink water taps as well. Paid £22 for hard pitch with EHU. Worth the money.

Had 3 nights to visit Edinburgh. Toilets / showers clean & tidy, site well maintained with pool table for kids. Receiption service good, pub looked good but didn't use as too busy in city. Ideal to visit Edinburgh, short walk up drive to road, catch No 11 bus into city which approx 3 miles @ tickets are all day unlimited bus/tram travel £4, or £8.50 for family. Can but these from receiption. They have late arrival car park with EHU. Would def return to site if going to Edinburgh again. Booked online in advance.

We called on spec as the rapidly worsening weather stopped us travelling further. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The site seems to be very clean and well kept. We visited the on site bar The Stables which has a varied menu. We found the meal prices to be just a but expensive but not exessively so. The food that was served was delicious and piping hot. There is free WiFi advertised at the bar but it didn't seem to work for us. The campsite also has free WiFi but only in selected zones so not much use on pitch. £19 for the two of us with EHU didn't seem too outrageous for the standard of the facilities on offer but I'm sure the prices would be more in mid to high season. We'd be happy to return here.

Well located just outside the city. There is a bus just outside the gates that take you in, it passes the usher hall so handy for events too. The pub restaurant on site was reasonable and tasty. The site and facilities were very well kept.

Fantastic campsite with great facilities. Can be a little expensive at peak times but worth it my opinion. Bus stop directly out side the site and its only £1.60 on the number 11 into the city. Great pub the stable bar on site but the food can be hit and miss.

Great site with fantastic facilities, the only issue we found was the hard standing pitch was the same width of the van so we were constantly in/out and walking on the Grass/Mud. There is a nice pub with a good choice of Ales and Food although I was a little disappointed in our meal, It's a great site to use for a base for a few day trips into Edinburgh as there is a bus stop at the end of the lane and it's £1.60 per person on the No 11 bus.

We didn't enjoy this site despite its good location near Edinburgh.
Booked a fully serviced pitch, but thought it was a very poor set up and had to drive through another pitch to get to mine. The facilities were constantly dirty and it looked like a lot of semi-permanent pitches were in place. Also looked like a lot of workmen were using this as a base for working away from home, coming and going very early.

This was a second choice after finding the CL we were aiming for was fully booked. Mortonhall came up as the next closest option on the sat nav, but I recall it as being quite expensive when I was reviewing the area. As it was only 1 mile away and it was getting late, we rang Mortonhall to check if there was vacancies. The guy who answered suggested that if we wanted a pitch without hookup we stood a chance of getting a spot but gave the impression the site was full otherwise. So we decided to go and have a look as it was on the way to another site we had in mind. Pulled up at reception and after a bit of negotiating we managed to get a hard standing pitch without hookup for £17.50 for 2 adults (they never asked about the dogs which I understand would have normally been an extra charge). When we found our pitch we couldn't understand why the receptionist was so cautious about saying there were spaces as there were plenty of pitches available.
The facilities are extensive and of good quality with a restuarant and bar on site with a basic menu. The only thing missing is a pool.
The site is conveniently located for visiting Edinburgh, which is just 4 miles away, and there is a bus stop right outside the site entrance. Catch the no 11 bus and this takes you right into Princess Street for £1:50 each way.
As usual you have to vacate your pitch early but the staff let us park up in the late arrivals area whilst we visited the city.
