October may have been fine, but I would avoid all of the Loch Earn laybys during the summer months as they become overrun with long-stay fishermen in campers, caravans and tents, building encampments and lighting bonfires etc. It is a real problem in the area and would not result in the nice peaceful visit that the original poster describes.View all reviews by steve928
A lovely wildcamping location just off the A85 alongside Loch Earn. It is one of a few lay bys along the road but benefits from being more off set than others and has a row of trees between it and the main road which helps reduce any road noise (of which there was little) and keeps you out of sight - although we also saw nobody else while we were there either.View all reviews by admin
The views of the loch are spectacular early in the morning and there is a little pebble beach for access to the waters edge. Obvioulsy no facilities other than rubbish bins. Space for probably 3 or 4 vans.
