If you have a dog, like cycling and/or walking then this site is near perfection. Surrounded by parks and cycle paths but yet only a fifteen minute walk from the city centre it is the perfect location for anyone visiting Cardiff. There is a good cafe on site although curiously it doesn't open for breakfasts until 9.00 by which time us and all our neighbours had eaten. The toilets and showers are dated but work ok although the showers stays on (very) briefly before constantly cutting out. They are very clean though.
The welcome is warm and friendly and although we were late in arriving clear instructions had been left.
We booked for four nights which included The Milenium Stadium staging the Champions League Final. We were happy to pay the £180.00 site fee at a time when hotel rooms were extortionate however a touch pricy perhaps.

Brilliant site right by the river taff and a hop skip and a jump into the city ! Plenty of cycle and walking trails and good facilities at the site itself ! Next to the beautiful Bute park and near Cardiff castle ! There is a taff trail walk/ cycle path which will take you to the fairytale Castle Coch ! A must to see !
! Wardens very friendly and helpful ! Always best to book in advance if possible as can be fully booked if there is a big event on in Cardiff e.g Rugby etc ! Highly recommend this site !

Might appear to be expensive but you are in comfortable walking distance of the city centre, castle, Llandaff cathedral, a huge Tescos Extra, local pubs and the Chapter Arts Centre. The city, cathedral and castle are all accesible via footpaths along the river or through Sophia Park

Spaces are quite small but this is city centre. Facilities clean and well kept. There is also a very good cycle charity with cycle hire on site. My wife doesn't cycle so this was a perfect opportunity for her to learn in the safety of pedestrian/cycle routes. It was so good we bought her a bike when we got home.

Excellent little site. Set in trees/parkland, but a short cycle/ 20 min walk from city centre. Wardens vigilant, loos clean, small cafe on site. 1 min walk from cafés /bistros in Pontcanna. Pitches all weather. Very much for city access.

Great clean site right in the heart of the capital. Great spot for site seeing and for going to events in the capital. The wife and I enjoyed the walk in the nearby park along the river, you wouldn't think you were in the city.

City centre camp site. This is a fabulous place if you want to visit Cardiff. It's a short walk through the park to the castle and the city centre.
The site facilities are a bit tired but I wouldn't let that put you off. Very clean. Pitches are mostly on a firm grassy pad.
Certainly plan to revisit.

A fantastic place to stay if you want to explore Cardiff. Located in a scenic park next to the river, in walking distance of the city centre and the waterbus to the bay. Lovely! The pitches are a bit crammed in but you can understand why as it's a very small site which is much in demand. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and there's a pub on the edge of the park which is really handy. Highly recommended.

Location location location- not a lot more to say. Toilet block is a bit shabby but it's still a great site. 15minute walk into the centre of Cardiff. Can get the river taxi down to Cardiff bay as well.

Our favourite city break campsite, been here several times including for events at the Millennium Stadium, Millennium Centre (in Cardiff Bay) and for New Year. Quiet for it's location in a buzzing city and not too expensive, be warned it books up well in advance of events going on in the city i.e. concerts & sporting events at the Millennium Stadium. The staff here are great and the site manager is working really hard to improve the site even more

Very convenient for Cardiff centre, also a water bus nearby to Cardiff Bay. Expensive at £30 a night
