Spent 1 night there. Good place to visit Stratford, short walk to the town and river. When I visited, there was someone obviously thinking it was a campsite (chairs and table out, hose from their motorhome straight into a drain and I even saw them wheel their toilet cassette into the nearby trees obviously to empty it). This is not good and what gives motorhomers a bad name. Late night boys gathering showing off their cars behind us till late too. Nevertheless, I would visit again because its a lovely place to visit.

Just parked here for a couple of hours while we wandered about Stratford in the rain! Good to find a car park with bays we can fit in! We have driven through several places en route and not been able to stop as we are too big for car park spaces.
Will come here again and stay over if we are going to spend some time in Stratford.

Due to travellers invading this site the spaces are now down to 9. And when I tried to get on this site there was a m/h with their chairs and a cone blocking an empty space. The person in question was also washing their m/h. It is people like that that get us a bad name. Luckily I got on the marina car park thanks to the owner finding me a spot.

Used this place one night in July. 4 spaces left when we arrived at 1pm. Full by 4pm. Short walk to town. Excellent for a stopover or if you want to stay and have a good look around you can stay 72 hours for £20.

Further to my review of July 2018, I wanted to update on arrangements for motorhomes here. I had heard that there had been changes and that height barriers had gone up. Well there are now 9 large designated motorhome parking bays, long enough to accommodate the largest of motorhomes. They are alongside the lorry parking. Still £2 to park overnight, until 8am. We stayed midweek in June, only three spaces occupied. This will obviously get busier at weekends and in school holidays and it may be necessary to arrive early to get a space, as there is not as much room for motorhomes as previously.

The area where motorhomes used to park now has a height barrier in place. However, there is now a designated area of the lorry & coach park marked out on the ground stating 'motorhome parking only'. There are around 10 spaces here, long enough for any size motorhome. Could probably double-up if space is tight. In spite of the signs, a couple of lorries parked up in the motorhome area, noisy when they left early. The council said that motorhomes can use the lorry & coach areas as an overflow.

The big area where motorhomes used to park has now height barriers in place. There is no official place for motorhomes, however at present motorhomes do park at the back but where coaches and lorries park. An official did tell me it was ok to park there, obviously when paying the correct parking fee. We bought a 24 hour parking ticket and stayed overnight totalling £10. The ticket should have expired after 24 hours which would have taken us to around noon, but it gave a 9 am expiry time on the ticket for an unknown reason. As we didnt want to risk a fine, we paid another £2 as we wanted to go for a walk and coffee until 11 am.

As already stated the old area we’ve stayed at in the past is now restricted access with hight barriers in place. MH parking is now with the lorries and coaches, thete were about 5 MH’s when we stayed. Still a decent nights sleep for me, although the lorries were firing up and departing from about 5 am, not great if you are a light sleeper. Great access to town and good value if you only want somewhere to park up and dont want a view...

As stated before following the recent traveler encampments height barriers have been installed to the area previously used for motorhomes. However, there are now 9 dedicated motorhome bays lat the rear of the coach park. (Photo added above) they slope slightly to the rear but are big enough for the longest of motorhomes.

There are only 9 marked motorhomebays so i asked local council if ok to use lorry bays

Good afternoon,

Please see the following information supplied buy our CEO supervisor -

No, we are issuing advisories to the coaches taking up the motorhome bays and motor homes parking in the coach and lorry bays . As the bays have only just gone in, we are giving advisories for now.

If you could let the motorhome user know that we are aware the coaches are parking incorrect and are doing all we can to stop this and parking in a coach or lorry bay by a motorhome

Email received from local council stating that sleeping in van overnight is NOT allowed

Dear Alan,

I can confirm that overnight parking is still allowed in the Leisure Centre car park, but you have never been and are still not permitted to sleep in the motorhome overnight.

With kind regards

Stayed one Friday night in January 2019. Easy access, plenty of space & good location for town centre. No allocated MH spaces so needed to use two spaces but just bought one ticket, which appeared to be fine. Quiet & felt safe with a few MHs parked up.

Designated space for motorhome overnight parking. Just £2 to park from 4pm to 8am. Stayed here 1/10/18 along with about a dozen other vans. Walked into Stratford and had a meal. Recommend The Thatched Inn. Quiet night with no disturbance. Perfect.

A great aire style stopover - basically a corner of a large car park where motorhomes are welcome to park both in the daytime and overnight.
Only a 5 minute walk from Stratford town centre the riverside and The RSC.
We will definately use this location again.
Toilets in the leisure centre and you can also use their showers for £1.50

The motorhome parking area is adjacent to the truck overnight parking area. The trucks started their pre-flight checks at around 3:00 in the morning, each lorry is required to do these checks and that takes around 20 minutes with the engine running.
During the week the lorry park was full up with around 50 vehicles parked overnight so it was rather noisy. Not a problem if you can sleep through it. It’s worth parking as far away from the truck parking as possible.
Great for £2 a night.

Brilliant stopover so close to the town centre. £10 for 24hrs but from 6pm you could pay just £2 to stay overnight! Plenty of space despite others reporting on noise from the HGVs-they didn’t bother us at all. Dog walking area across the car park towards the skate park.-and safe enough to be off the lead.

As others have said, great for visiting Stratford. Hardstanding, flat and well drained. We arrived on a Saturday at 4pm and just about got in. It did empty by 6pm will lots of options for moving.
15 others overnighting with us but well spaced out.Quiet night. Will definitely use again.
Low rating for facilities as it's a car park with toilets in leisure centre.. Still a win in my book.

Fantastic spot for motorhome. We arrived at 4pm on Friday and paid the £10 for 24 hours charge. Well worth it. Takes a couple of minutes to walk to the centre and all it has to offer.
Can use toilet facilities in leisure centre. No other services.
Excellent dog walk at the side of car park where dogs can run free.
We were that impressed that we stayed until Sunday!
We will definitely be back.

Stayed here last night, chose the location largely because of reviews on this site. Lived up to expectations. Short walk into town and local hostelries. Paid £2 to stay from 6pm to 8am, 12 other vans overnighting too. Parking feels very safe, local lads meeting with their cars had all gone by 11pm and it was very quiet overnight. Bonus of an early morning swim for £1.80 (old dear’s rate!) which included shower of course. Similar to many town aires we have used in France, just wish more English towns would follow suit. We will definitely use this place again.

As a lone lady with 2small dogs I felt very safe. Took me about 7mins to walk to the High street.
