Great farm site for visiting the abbeyView all reviews by CautiousCampers
Nice 30 minute walk on the farms pathway to the canal and motor museum but passed a few dead sheep and a lot of farm rubbish piled up
Bistro does fab Sunday lunch
Site pitches needing a bit of “grooming” it felt as if owners didnt give it enought tlc compared to other Noth Walewales sites weve been in. We were right by the refuse disposal which consists of a huge skip piled high with black bags etc ( no separate recycling bins) and though it was fenced the rubbish was so high it towered over the fence and that was the view from our van window
We couldnt find anywhere for grey waste disposal or a stand pipe for water
So good and not so good things
Absolutley beautiful locationView all reviews by clare468
Great for kids
Cute bistro with an amazing breakfast
Only negative the toilets and showers are filthy but cant help feeling its the people that use them create that unfortunatley
In all would recommend
Busy site, mix of statics, tents and tourers. Mostly grass pitches but some gravel. May need levelling blocks. Basic but clean facilities. On site tea room doubles as a bar/bistro in the evenings - decent food if a tad pricey. Surrounded by hills meaning good views all round, plus the Abbey ruins, but obviously at the expense of TV reception.View all reviews by strinesian
Lovely site in the hills.View all reviews by explorerdora
Easy walk to nearby Llangollen.
Site- plenty of pitches whether hard standing or grass.
Bistro on site
And rather disappointing farm shop.
Unfortunately very noisy at night. No fire rule but setting off Chinese lanterns at night. Children have small play area but appear to be happier around the rubbish skip. DisappointedView all reviews by explorerdora
Used this as a final stopover before heading home, so that we could replenish fresh water and empty the other tanks. Toilets block was spotless. Emptying of grey waste needs a container, as there is no facility to drive over. Black waste disposal, probably as I am new to this, made me heave as the facility was in an enclosed room with a large toilet that you had to flush after pouring your contents into it. There was a light but it didn't work. The view, from our hard standing pitch,of the AbbeyView all reviews by redwizard999
A great site, some hardstandings but grassed pitches can be boggy in wet times. right next to the abbey with nice views. Great pub/restaurant on site, food is grest with HOME MADE CHIPS !!!! A lovely level walk along the canal (about 1 mile) into Llangolen. Staff are great and helpful. Nice heated toilet/ shower block, clean but a little dated.View all reviews by davidmorris13
What you're paying for (quite a lot; £22 pn) is the fabulous location. Facilities in area in the shadow of fascinating abbey ruins (entry not inc) few and very basic. Great play for kids with swings over stream. Lots of field for, I guess, dog walking. Cafe, bar and small shop on site.View all reviews by timsinc
Decent site, the shower facilities could have been cleaner, our pitch was next to the Abbey ruins which was beautiful. One down fall was when we arrived they had allowed someone to pitch up on our pitch and they had gone out so we had to wait around for something to be done. We were supposed to meet with family for a birthday meal which we ended up missing because of it.View all reviews by klarkieboy
Not the sites fault though.
