Good place for a stopover on our way home from the Highlands but was quite noisy with a constant stream of young drivers turning up with noisy exhausts and loud music, slamming doors etc. At 1am I finally put my earplugs in. It is a car park after all and not a campsite and they had just as much right to be there as we did.

Busy but found a space along with about 30 others. Do not go up to the barriers as you will have to pay £5 needlessly as top car park closes at 5pm anyway so you’d have to transfer to bottom car park for the night. It only adds a little extra walk to Kelpies. Pop up after dark too as Kelpies lit up. They are not charging for overnight atm due to Covid. A couple of cars parked up for a while late on and were obviously youths meeting up. No trouble just loud until about midnight. Cycled the 4 miles to the Falkirk Wheel along the canal which was pleasant. Uphill there and a lovely downhill on the return. General + recycling Bin on site. A really great site to visit Kelpies and wheel.

I was looking forward to staying hear but was completly dissapionted. Carpark is nice enough. Very buesy. Settled down for a good night sleep but unfortunatley didnt get one. Cars coming and going until 2 in the morning, people laughing , screaming, slaming car doors. Road noise, most of the night. Wasnt what i was expecting. Great for a pit stop to visit the kelpies but wouldnt stay overnight .

The first car park you come to is the overnigjt stop. It is free and a short walj ro the Kelpies. There arw no facilities. When we were there in September 2020, thr main car park and hub closed at 5pm. Very noisy all night and tight spaces for medium+ motorhomes.

stayed two nights. arrived late on a Friday, around 6.30 and found a space. plenty of other motorhomes here. quiet night. went to the kelpie. fantastic.
walked to the falkirk wheel along the towpath, 8 mile round trip on Saturday. when we got back the carpark was heaving and no room to park. Still busy at 9pm, so don't rely on getting a space.
great location though. flat. no faciluties. no charges.

Arrived about 4 - lower car park full - drove to industrial estate and parked near B&Q - took bikes off and cycled to the Wheel. We rode back to the car park about 6. Still busy. Went for cuppa at Kelpies and then checked out the parking again. Just as busy - so cycled back to moho and about half an hour later we chanced our luck and managed to get in when a car vacated a bay. Car park VERY busy up until about 8pm. About 10 the "boom boom" brigade arrived - the music was intermittent for about an hour. This morning the near empty car park was strewn with plastic bottles, cans, sweet wrappers. I picked up some - but refused to clear up the takeaway remnants. Parking free atm.

Didn't enjoy this stopover. Road noise was an issue as well as youngsters pulling up in cars from late evening till the early hours. Great place as day time parking for the Kelpies and a good cycle ride along the canal to the Falkirk Wheel, but not somewhere I would want to stop the night again. There was around 9 Motorhomes the night we stayed.

Stayed here on a Sunday night and as the main car park closest to the Kelpies currently closes at 5pm finding a space in the first car park proved difficult. After 6:30pm it starts to clear out though. Around a half dozen other motorhomes stayed and as the toilets and visitor centre is closed we weren't charged for staying the night. Bit noisy from traffic on the main road but not too bad.

There are 2 car parks, the one nearest the Kelpies and visitor centre has a £5 charge and is locked at night (times vary on time of year). the one slightly further away, the first one on the left as you enter the Helix park is free and useable overnight. It tends to be busy during the day, but as the staff said it empties out in the evening. A few vans in. reasonably flat with no facilities. There is road noise which disappears in the evening. Easy walk to Kelpies and fairly easy bike ride along the canal to the Falkirk Wheel.

Stayed one night at the lower carpark to see the Kelpies. Nice level parking and on this occasion not busy or noisy.
The Kelpies are absolutly stunning and a must to see with nice walks along the canal and park. They look stunning illuminated at night and worth the stoppover.

Very reasonable at £5 overnight, but extremely noisy until the early hours (around 2am) with cars coming and going and lots of chatter and laughing while trying to get to sleep! Maybe Saturday night wasn’t the best time to stay, and possibly mid week would be quieter? Also worth bearing in mind where to park for easy exit as the car park staarted filling up by 8 - 9 am.

Arrived late at night, 10 vans already there, a couple of cars, but very quite. Slept well, awoke surrounded by cars, even on a rainy weekday, the car park was busy. We used this only to sleep in and moved on, but I know the Kelpies is well worth a visit, would recommend this for a visit or stop over

fantastic to see the kelpies all lit up but the car park was a bit noisy with teenagers in cars till late on in the evening then went quiet
I paid my £5 for overnight parking but found out most just turn up and park as I did not see any checks done,it is a busy car park as is free to park a car so sometimes you have to be patient to get a space.

Brilliant spot to stop at for a fiver, quiet and plenty of space, we stopped as a pass through touring the east side and were welcomed by a cheery fella giving out parking permits for the night, free coffee on bottom too, the walk to the kelpies is 3 minutes and we went back in again just before midnight to do some night photos with them lit up. Fantastic piece and well worth the visit. Only critism I would have is not for the place but the some of the other overnighters, it clearly states dont leave your rubbish, but when taking the dogs for a walk at 6:30am the next morning, they are brimming with tied carrier bags and the like, if you want places to stay cheap and open to us dont do this.

We stayed overnight in our 8.6m tag axle motorhome, there were 8 others staying overnight. To fit within the parking bay you need to be 7.5m or less, even using the grass overhang our back wheels were against the kerb and we stuck out 1 metre, we parked opposite the exit so weren’t causing an obstruction. A busy car park until 11pm as people visit to see the Kelpies lit up. Quiet after 11pm. Easy walk along the canal to the Kelpies. Toilets in top car park open until 10pm. £5 to stay overnight.

Stayed here rather than the Wheel as we really wanted to see Kelpies lit up at night and worth doing. However the Wheel car park is much quieter so if you want that then worth bearing in mind. Only £5 and next to Helix park so great for dog walking. Toilets not far open until 10pm. Cafe opens at 9.30 and with your parking fee you get one free coffee when you pay for one. We were gone before so didnt use it. Bins on site. Flat car park. Felt safe. A few other vans parked up too.

No spaces at the bottom carpark during the day, so had to pay £5 to park at the top one, where we were also charged £5 for the overnight. Told to move to the bottom carpark for overnight. No facilities. Toilets at top CP.
The Kelpies were wonderful, also the Falkirk Wheel, which we walked to.
However did not have a good night here. Groups of youths driving in and out, honking horns. Why?

We stopped on our way to Perth, arriving about 7pm. Paid our £5 overnight fee in the top car park, then back to the bottom where you are allowed to stay, and parked up. There were quite a few motorhomes there! The park itself is a great place for dog walking and of course there is a lovely walk along the canal to The Kelpies, not far, about 5 mins. We had a peaceful night and then walked to the cafe in the morning for breakfast, just pastries available though, and your overnight fee gets you one hot drink free. Would definately stay again ????

Excellent stopover for The Kelpies. We drove up to the top carpark on arrival and paid £5 for an overnight permit. Had a walk around The Kelpies (which are amazing!) then drove back down to the bottom carpark for the night. Had a walk around Helix Park in the evening, which has a boating lake and a fantastic kids play park, then spent a peaceful night with about 4 other vans (little bit of traffic noise but it didn’t bother us). Walked back up to see The Kelpies iin the sunshine in the morning along the canal path (about 10 mins). Cafe and toilets at the top and recycling rubbish bins in bottom carpark. Would definitely use again.

We stayed here on Easter Monday, after spending the day at The Falkirk Wheel, arriving at about 5.30 as we wanted to see the horses lit up. The parking staff were very helpful, you can’t park on the carpark nearest to The Kelpies (top car park) overnight as the road is closed at 10pm. The car park furthest away (bottom) was very busy so they advised us to stay in the top car park and move later. In the morning we moved back to the top car park.
There is traffic noise, so for a more peaceful night it might be better to stay at The Falkirk Wheel, there were also a few boy racers about using doing circuits of the car park, but this didn’t go on for too long and didn’t disturb us.

Perfect spot to park overnight to see the kelpies lite up at night. We arrived in well after midnight as we came of a late boat & drove straight to the carpark with ample room for motorhome. Just short walk about half a mile from the carpark just follow the path to left takes you towards helix centre. Had the Keplies all to ourselves got some perfect photos due to it being very late 1.30a.m although meet a few others on the walk back. Then got to see them the next morning in daylight. They are amazing.

There is no consistency on overnight parking on the bottom car park for overnight stay. At just before 8pm we were instructed to move to the top car park by The Helix. They said strictly no overnight parking on bottom car park. Top car park quitened down by 11pm so no problem and a good nights sleep.

Stayed here several times and as with other visits nearly impossible to get into the car park during the day because it is always full. If visiting and not planning to stay overnight either swallow the cost (£5.00) and park in the main car park or park at the stadium and walk up. This time we stayed at the main car park during the day so we could cycle along the canal to the Falkirk wheel. We then took the advice off the attendents on the gate (and paid the £5.00) and went down to the overnight car park at about 9.30pm at which stage very few vehicles in car park. Very quiet overnight and the next morning we walked up to make use of our voucher for a free hot drink at the cafe.

Arrived at 5.30, bottom carpark empty with a few boy racers about, felt a bit apprehensive so went to canalside grill instead. I am sure if there had been other motorhomes about it would have been fine. Toilets on top carpark fine. Kelpies Brill and lit up. But it is a Monday night in december, so perhaps not a true reflection of what it is usually like.

Good stop over to visit Kelpies. Easy to get to from main road. £5.00 to park on top car park and 4 miles each way along towpath to Falkirk Wheel. Good cafe and visitor centre right by Kelpies. Agree with the other reviews (bottom carpark). We arrived later and found a park immediately. We left the MH there in the morning and walked the canal tow path to the Falkirk Wheel (4 miles) and caught a number 3 bus back. When you get off the bus you have to walk through the rest of The Helix which was a nice surprise. a sign on the public toilets in the upper car park says they open at 9am although it is possible they open earlier when they open the gates to the upper car park.

I live in Falkirk so am lucky enough to have the Kelpies on my doorstep. The site is a "must see" feature of Scotland.
The bottom carpark by the kelpies themselves is open until 8pm. The first carpark for overnight is on the left as you enter
the park. Overnight parking is free.

Stayed 1 night at bottom car park. Some noise from the A9 and vehicles coming & going til about midnight...but earplugs in had a good sleep. Toilets at top car park closed at 4 this time of year.

Visited the Kelpies after the Falkirk Wheel. Booth are great attractions. Note, Kelpies top car park is now closed after 8.00 pm and the gates are locked. Bottom car park is fine and went quiet after about 11.00 pm.

The bottom car park is free overnight but the top up by the Kelpies is now monitored until 11pm to stop the boys racers and to charge £5 for cars to go up, gates close at 10pm with no overnight up there. Very popular with cars coming till quite late to see them, very well done.

Great location with lots to do and see in the immediate area, but also very convenient for a visit to the Falkirk wheel, which is walkable (approx. 4.5 miles) or by bus which will take you point to point. The walk is worth doing as it takes you along the canal for almost the entire way.

Great for an evening stop if in the area. The kelpies look great at night, as previously said the top car park can be noisey with the big bore exhaust boys doing a few laps but the bottom carpark near the entrance it quiet.

Great location for an over night stop where there are some toilets and litter bins available, Be warned that if you use the carpark close to the Kelpies it can get a little lively in the evenings with the local boy racing groups. We used the carpark close to the entrance off the roundabout with no problems at all.
