2 Older couples in 6m motorhomes.
Stayed here for 2 nights so we had a day to walk around the village and walk the lovely circular route taking in the hermits cave and the quaint village. Thoughrouly enjoyed the reasonably priced food and a couple of drinks in the pub run by a very nice friendly couple. Will definitely go back. Fresh water, grey waste disposal, elsan point for £5.00 per night and ehu for £5.00 per night if required.

Nice little pup stop over, with facilities along with electric hook, good food and drink, on the night we stayed we were joined by another 3 vans, well worth the cost for the night £10 with EHU or £5 with out.

Nice village pub with a warm welcome, situated in a beautiful village with lots of surrounding countryside walks. The hermits house in hermit wood is especially nice.
We have a large moho 7.5 metres. no problem for the large carpark. Some spaces may need chocks. Electricity available if needed as qas waste and water. £5 to stay, £5 for electricity if needed.
Nice meal and covid secure. Lovely couple that runs it. we will visit again.

This is an awesome stopover that has sadly been abused by people just buying half a lager to get free parking with facilities. The landlord has now put a £5 charge on all parking, it's still excellent value for money but sad that it was abused. The pub is very clean and friendly with good food and lovely staff so let's encourage more like this not abuse it.

Stayed here first Friday night after Lockdown eased. Nice setting with country views from the large car park. Chickens kept, and you can buy their fresh eggs from the pub. Sit down meals not available yet but bar snacks and lovely take away fish and chips! Shown where water, Elsan etc was by friendly staff. Charges to stay are now £10.00 per night, flat fee, including electric whether you want it or not. Nearest place to stay for a few nights before going to Regal Furnishings (upholstery place).

Lovely friendly pub. Owners are welcoming and helpful. It must be difficult for them at the moment because they have just reopened after lockdown but they could not have been nicer. Snacks are available from the bar, as the kitchen has not yet reopened, we had a delicious (massive) pork pie!
The setting is very pretty, in a picturesque village, with an old Abbey, church and lots to see. Unfortunately we were on a mission, so didn’t have time to explore the village but we will go back.
It’s great value at £5 for electric hookup, fresh water available and both black and grey water drainage.
We went into the bar for one drink and ended up staying all evening

Great pub stop over with EHU, water and Elsan point. No charge to stay if eating in the pub (just for EHU - £4 or £5?). Pub is very traditional, food was good, dogs welcome in the bar area. Most meals were around £8 mark. Good base for nice walks around Dale Abbey. Phone ahead to book space as only 4 x EHU, but plenty of car park space if you don’t need hook up.

Stayed at this great place a couple of weeks ago. Dark and really heavy rain when we arrived.. Didn't stop John the landlord from running out to greet us and show us the ehu and water. Company of John and Michelle was so good that we can't remember what time we left the pub lol. Food was excellent value to. In the morning, we walked up the village to a lovely little cafe that Michelle had recommended and the cakes are seriously good. The village of Dale Abbey is a stunningly beautiful village an

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful, from the initial phone call to during out stay. We had a meal which was lovely, relatively plain fare but well presented, decent portion sizes and not expensive, certainly good value. The EHU points are all together in the top corner, so if you're not first or second there you might need your long hook-up cable. Would we stay again? Oh yes.

Was nice to sit and watch a bit of TV with a couple of pints. Defo recommend. Also had water points and elan waste but we didnt use either. Greta stay thanks

Just back from 2 night stopover. We stayed in the field. No charge as had meal & drinks. Bonus that there was a charity music festival in the car park. Very friendly staff - ehu available if you ring & book it. Elsan point and fresh water. Very dog friendly. Great field for off lead runs. Plenty of footpaths in the lovely village. A couple of miles off M1 - will definitely return. Nearest village shops about 2 miles away.

Very friendly management and staff, great facilities with the choice of EHU for £5.00 cash, payable at the bar, fresh water and waste disposal too. We had a meal in the pub which was delicious and there was a good choice of real ales. If eating in the pub you don't need to pay the £4.00 overnight fee.
We had phoned ahead and booked the EHU and asked what time food was served, when we arrived there was a table reserved for us, which was nice. Dog friendly too.

Stayed overnight at Carpenters Arms prior to an early appointment at Regal Furnishing which is only 2 miles away.
We phoned in advance and requested EHU which costs £5 (this needs to paid in cash). We bought a couple of drinks and ate at the pub so overnight camping was free. The menu is normal pub fayre but enjoyable nonetheless. There’s a good range of cask ales - Pedigree, Abbott Ale and Adnams Broadside - to keep the drinkers happy. If you don’t want to use the pub it’s an extra £4 for overnight parking. There’s fresh water available and an Elsan point located at the side of the building.
A nice quiet spot. No traffic noise.

Last minute decision for a weekend away. Called on Saturday morning to book. We wanted EHU and when we arrived, John had a lead all ready for us to just connect. Spent a quiet night in a lovely location. Great service point. The pub is very friendly and Liz and John both make you feel welcome. The food is excellent and great prices. We were lucky enough to catch the Classic Car gathering on Sunday morning. Plenty of walks and Hermits Cave is a must Perfect overnight. Thanks to all the team

Stayed her Wednesday night with our 2 dogs. Agree with what everyone has already said. Ate in the pub so stay was free, good value, nice drinks, helpful friendly owner. Pub, grounds and garden very clean and tidy. Field at the side with footpath going across to trees for a quick walk with the dogs but there are footpaths all round the quaint little village. Didn't see any shops so make sure you have what you need. Take care on approaching village as the road narrows, would stay again

Very friendly welcome as we arrived, and although car park was busy landlord made sure we found a suitable place.
Pub was busy during day but quieter on the evening. We ate in the lounge, food was average with limited choice.
Nice circular walk through village and through hermitage wood and past hermits cave and the ruins of an old Abbey.

First ever try at a Pub-Stop and what a great Pub to start on. Host could not be more welcoming and has really good water/toilet facilities for Motorhomes – see picture.
Car Park is tarmac and mostly flat, just need to pick the right spot. Electric hook-up is available and it’s all you’ll pay for providing you eat/drink in the pub.
Will definitely use again, perfect North/South stop not far from the M1 Motorway.

We broke up our journey to relatives in Hucknall by staying a night at the Carpenters Arms. We were well looked after by all concerned, a hookup was brought out for us and although we didn't need any other facilities they were pointed out to us just in case. The food was good and reasonably priced. If you are wondering why we only rated the location and view at 5, it's a bit out of the way and just overlooks a messy field. When we were there they were preparing to be a CL

Very rare that you find a pub and landlord that knows what facilities we need this one is top of the list
Really modern pub that retains the separate room i.e. Lounge and tap room excellent food and yet when all the landlords alterations to the car park and camping area are complete it will be a great (if possible) addition would recommend it without any doubt
