Stayed here for 2 nights , very peaceful, and felt very secure . We had a lovely easy stroll down to the pretty village of Powfoot, which we enjoyed . Overall, a good stopover that we recommend and would definitely use again ourselves .View all reviews by AnneEK

Stayed in the hardstanding but could have stayed on the field. No facilities but that was made clear in the listing Spacious site and a lovely friendly owner. Easy walk into Powfoot where we were able to exercise the dogs. Would definitely stay againView all reviews by ly085

Lovely one night stopover on our way south. Only unit here, hardstanding and water point. An easy 15 min walk into Powfoot village and visited both the little book cabin at the bowling green and had a pint at the Hotel. A nice safe stopover and the sheep were so friendly and the wife loved them. Would stay here again while heading north or south.View all reviews by infantryman

Good location for stop when travelling around Dumfries and Galloway. Peaceful one night stopover with just sheep and horses for company. You can park on hardstanding or field. Nice views across farmland. Level pitches, £10 for a stopover which we left in honesty box, we were the only ones there! Fresh water tap available. Would recommend walk to Pow Foot, takes approx 10 mins, very interesting village with views across the Solway. Hotel with restaurant in the village and little cafe.View all reviews by fimark

Does what it says, quiet, peaceful and dark with a lovely outlook across the fields. I for one am happy to pay £10 to know we are parked up on flat ground with the landowners permission. We can enjoy a glass of wine safe in the knowledge that we won't be bothered by anyone and we aren't causing a nuisance to people who live in the area, which incidentally is outstanding.View all reviews by Cantseewevebeen

Perfect stop for our last night in Scotland. We were on own with just some sheep for neighbours. No facilities but we knew that and didnt need any. Walked down into the village of Powfoot which is beautiful and sat outside the hotel for a drink in thd sunshine. Menu seemed good and reasonable but we already had our dinner planned.View all reviews by FionaMcNair

Turned up on the off chance of a pitch, guy who met us was very welcoming and showed us to the field just off the farm yard. Lovely views and we had a peaceful nights sleep. A nice walk into Powfoot, lots of history displayed on the notice board in the village. We would definitely stay againView all reviews by Suewoodhouse

No problems at all exactly as described a nice stop over in a lovely part of the country. We had a very quiet and peaceful time with a nice reception from the owner. Lots of bird life to watch alongside the gorgeous sheep. We visited the Devil's Porridge museum just up the road and really enjoyed it, and the cafe is worth a visit. The local beaches are fantastic with parking places for larger vehicles.View all reviews by larnswick
