We have tried to stay here twice now!View all reviews by anwenowens
The first time we couldnt because they would not open the gate for us in the morning.
Today my husband was driving our motorhome and I was driving a car we were’nt allowed to take the car on site and would have had to leave it outside in a car park that was already full but if we were towing it was ok...no logic in that.
So needless to say we did not stay and will not bother trying to stay here again.
We stayed on our last night before early morning shuttle crossing. Quiet, rural site outside Calais, literally 15 minutes maximum drive from Channel tunnel. Flat, grass pitches (can be very soft hence slabs placed in some pitches to park on). Standard toilets/showers (no toilet seats but toilet roll provided). Village a couple of minutes walk away. 19euro ACSI in October.View all reviews by strinesian
Arrived mid October and allocated pitch with concrete slabs for front wheels- excellent idea for grass pitches.View all reviews by explorerdora
Lovely promenade walk along sea front approximately 100 metres away.
Short distance from Calais.
Lovely site, spotless facilities. We backed on to the field so ot was peaceful. Short walk to village. The bar is only open in the village till 8.30 and we were made welcome. Great bakery aswell. 2 resturants but we did not use them. 5 min walk to the beach and you can see Dover. 15 mins to tunnel so convenient too. Will go back, we booked and glad we did as it was full.View all reviews by lainey54
Stopped here for two nights and loved it. Clean, well laid out and 100 mtrs from the beach. Bus stop within 50 mtrs and it takes you into Calais for a walk round this beautiful town. Sangatte itself doesn't have much in the way of shops, Just a boulangerie that sold milk and a few other groceries. The walk along the sea front is not to be missed, especially as there are some spectacular sunsets to be had. Site also takes ACSIView all reviews by rumour
Great stop before the tunnel. Stopped here for one night but could have done more. Close to couple of bars and restaurants. Short walk to the beach.View all reviews by marvo1961
