Maybe out of season??Take a ticket at the entry barrier, park up, then go and see the man in the office at the exit, he will write you a day ticket to display in your windscreen - then you won’t be bothered by the local Police.
There are some longer parking bays towards the exit (normally used for coach parking but not marked as such) against the sea wall. We were told we could park wherever we wished.
About 200 metres walk to bakeries, cafes, bars and ATM’s.
A quirky place, with some houses only an empty shell and others fairly modern looking, it was apparently bombed severely by the Luftwaffe in 1943-45, it doesn’t look to have been completely rebuilt yet.
