A popular park right on the river Blackwater. It has a small boat launch into the river.
There is a huge amount of car parking. Many hard standing, overflow is on a grass field.
No overnight parking except at the Smoke and Fire festival which takes place in July.
There is a boating lake, an ornamental lake, a large childrens play area which has a splash park in the summer. There are beach huts for daily hire. A further play area best suited for younger children and a maze. There’s also a small bmx track and a skate park.
Markets are held every bank holiday. A 5k park run takes place every Saturday morning.
Events take place all year on the surrounding fields including classic car shows, for example.
There are plenty of food outlets in the park and if you walk along the sea wall you’ll reach two pubs, The Queens Head and The Jolly Sailor.
