This is a quaint village pub owned by a lovely young couple. They also have b&b rooms on site. They were more than happy for us to use their gravelled car park for our motorhome. They let us fill up from the tap which has a hosepipe and use their electricity as well. I gave £10 as a donation. We stayed on a Tuesday night. At the moment the pub is only open for food and drinks on the weekends, which was a shame for us as we would’ve really enjoyed it. Winterborne Monkton is very close to Avebury but you’d have to walk along the main road for some distance to get to the stone circle and amenities there.

Pub car park, largely level enough without blocks. Gravel all weather surface with grass paddock behind with owner’s permission. Rubbish disposal and power connection with owner’s help ( not self serve). Pub closed during the week so quiet then. Amazingly no requirement other than £5, which is given to the air ambulance. Owner Ben is very friendly and helpful. They do takeaways every day and accommodation which is being expanded this winter. We were isolating so were unable to sample the fare. This is a fantastic centre for exploring Avebury and Windmill Hill.
