Set in peaceful countryside and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site Buffer Zone, we are surrounded by stunning views of the Lakes and Scotland.

The Lowther Arms is a cooperative and community-owned pub, saved from permanent closure and conversion to a house by the local community and over 300 shareholders.
Re-opened in June 2021, it is more than a pub – we offer a comfortable place to have a drink, morning coffee, enjoy a meal, meet with friends, or simply a quiet corner to read in. Whether you are a local, a visitor, walker, or cyclist, come and relax in our lovely pub with its beer garden and stunning views of the Lake District.
Our 4-pitch caravan site will be ready for you to stop over – we have 3 pitches for tourers and motorhomes, pod, plus camping and Motorhome Aire.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar and beer garden.
