Russell and Angela invite you to visit Spears Ash Wood CL on the outskirts of the stunning village of Smarden in the heart of the Kentish Weald. We offer a relaxed, informal, natural site with the benefit of electrical hook up, drinking water point, waste disposal and recycling.
Smarden is one of the most beautiful villages in Kent blessed with a significant number of attractive timber-framed houses and a medieval church, known as the Barn of Kent due its massive roof span.
We are a small village with a big character boasting 3 pubs all serving food within a short walk of ½ mile!! We have a traditional butcher’s offering local meats, a vibrant art gallery and a shop selling small antiques and bric-a-brac. Our volunteer-run community shop, Post Office and café is buzzing and open 7 days a week! A Heritage Centre is open in the Charter Hall on Friday mornings; a place which houses a small collection of museum artefacts and rich archives relating to Smarden’s history. As well as the C of E Church there is a thriving Baptist Chapel in the centre of the village.
