On Suffolk cycle route B, Vera's is situated on the beautiful Shotley Peninsular in a lovely village called Chelmondiston, the nearest large town being Ipswich for which there is bus stop outside the Red Lion .
Chelmondiston village is just a short walk away and has a couple of shops & a lovely cafe. The general stores houses the Post Office. The Red Lion and the hair salon are just across the road. There’s also a good Chinese takeaway (cash only) in the village. Cafe next to the Chinese is a new addition for 2024.
There is a good playing field with zip wire a short walk away.
Pin Mill is a must visit and a lovely 12 to 15 minute walk away through picturesque country side.The Butt and Oyster is a wonderful pub on the edge of the River Orwell which is a ‘must visit’ serving great food and real ales. Children of all ages have always enjoyed playing poo sticks in the grindle (stream).
Arthur Ransome (1884 – 1967) of Swallows and Amazons fame had a holiday cottage here in Pin Mill.
The Nancy Blackett can still be sailing on the river today.

Access from Main Road is a country lane but is very quiet. Vera's is situated opposite the last terraced house which is on your left. The Entrance has been widened for easier access.
