Camping el Merino is a natural, small, rustic campsite of Dutch owners with very spacious pitches, luxury sanitary facilities, glamping Bell tents and a swimming pool. Far off the beaten track in the Spanish countryside. Away from the hustle and bustle, in the beautiful nature of the Sierra de Gata in Extremadura. The campsite has an outdoor kitchen with open fires and a gas grill for the use of the guests. Open fires are strictly forbidden in and around the campsite. Camping el Merino is synonymous with space and privacy on one of the 20 spacious, naturally situated pitches of 300 m2 on average. There are also 2 smaller pitches of 80 m2 for hikers and cyclists and 2 glamping Bell tents for hire.
Camping el Merino is situated in a natural environment and is the ideal starting point to discover the green and watery mountainous area of the Sierra de Gata. A paradise for hikers, peace seekers, nature lovers, mountain and road bikers, bird watchers and culture lovers. Close to the various charming villages of the Sierra de Gata with traditional architecture, cosy squares and good restaurants. Also within easy reach of beautiful historic cities such as Plasencia and Salamanca and, famous for Game of Thrones, Cáceres and Trujillo.
In summer, rivers are dammed in many places, creating natural pools.
