Warwick and Sarah run the Cross Hands Aire at Fferm Penycwm.
Fferm Penycwm is a privately owned 15 acre smallholding on the outskirts of Cross Hands. It is conveniently located 2 minutes' drive off the A48 and just four miles from Pont Abraham services at the end of the M4. Cross Hands Aire is the ideal stopover or destination for visitors to South, West and Central Wales and is licenced for up to 5 motorhomes.
We have a flat secure area for you to park up, relax and enjoy your stay. Cross Hands Aire is a dog friendly site and visitors are welcome to stroll around the property taking in beautiful views of the Gwendraeth Valley. We have hookup for two motor homes and a cosy communal lounge where visitors can relax. Other facilities are limited at the moment as we are in our first year as an Aire. The smallholding is a work in progress where farm machinery for haymaking may be parked up in view and farm work may be in progress.
Locally, there is a retail park with supermarket and take away eateries within walking distance. We also back on to Route 47 of the National Cycle Network. This traffic free cycle path runs to Llanelli where you can follow the coast east to Swansea Bay or west to Burry Port and Pembrey Country Park. We have cycles for hire if required.
There are many attractions locally including Mynydd Mawr Country Park (walking distance) and The National Botanic Gardens (5 miles away). Within a 20 to 30 minute drive there are impressive historic sites such as Carreg Cennin, Drislwyn, Llansteffan and Kidwelly Castles as well as Paxton’s Tower. All have walks around them offering stunning views of the Carmarthenshire countryside. We are just 12 miles east of the market town of Carmarthen, a 40 minute drive from the Gower Peninsula, while Llanelli, Burry Port and Cefn Sidan beaches are all a convenient half hour drive from the Cross Hands Aire at Fferm Penycwm.
We look forward to your visit to Cross Hands Aire. Whether you plan a stopover for one night or a fortnight, you will always be guaranteed a warm welcome from Warwick and Sarah.
