Welcome to Serenity on the Swale, a tranquil riverside location near the picturesque village of Topcliffe. There are two pubs in the village, The Swan and The Angel Inn, just a pleasant stroll up past the old flour mill and beautiful weir, with open areas just beyond, ideal for dog walks. There’s a village post office/shop, Elm Art Gallery and a fish and chip van visits on Friday evenings!
Nearby, The Catton Kitchen, (just outside Catton village, see Facebook page), offer a delightful choice of local fresh produce. The onsite chef serves mouthwatering dishes between 10-2pm Fri, Sat and Sun.
Ideal stopover location for the Deer Shed festival taking place 25-28 July 2025 at Balderby Park, each year and close enough to walk or cycle. CDP points: Sleningford Water Mill HG4 3HQ or B/bridge C&CC YO51 9LS (members) pls call them first.

At the top end of Catton Lane, opposite The Swan at the junction into Topcliffe village, there’s a fairly steep right turn (the oneway system out the village). You may wish to exit the site by turning left and head west towards the A61 and / or motorway links via Catton village to Skipton upon Swale, or bearing right up Catton Moor Lane to join the A167 and motorway links beyond.
