Second time of visiting and only came here because the ground at the aire at the recently refurbished La Mailleraye Sur Seine was soft and it looked like people were having a problem getting off the sloping grass pitches. Last time we stopped it was 8€ including drain and fill, and 2€ for electric - so 10€, now its 7€ to park, an additional 4€ to drain and fill and another €4 for electric, so a full service stay has gone up 50% to 15€! so it looses marks for the price.View all reviews by jilly
This time we stopped we both had bikes and decided to visit the Abbey over the river at Jumièges. You can board the ferry - free of charge, which crosses every 20 mins, or sooner if there is demand and the Abbey is a short ride away. It costs 6€ each adult to visit but what we found unusual was that there is an app available (search for Jumièges 3D) which brings the ruins to life imposing a 3D virtual reality version over the ruins and adds a lot more interest to the visit. You can hire an ipad for 5€ or download the app yourself although you need to download it before you visit a there is no wifi available at the Abbey.
Private aire with views over the river Seine where you can watch the immense barges and cargo ships passing up and down. Found this by accident as we were heading for the aire at Jumieges but our sat nav had lead us to a car ferry and we were too big to be taken across. Separate gravel hardstandings suitable for vans upto 9m. Quiet location, recommended as an alternative to the popular Mailleraye spot further up the road. Plenty of attractive traditional wooden houses in the area.View all reviews by admin
