Huge grassy area plus dedicated bays. Really pretty town but sadly not much to do. Most of the shops and bars. have closed. The citadel itself is stunning and the views of the surrounding area are beautiful. Thanks to the mayor for providing free parking!
lovely place to stop , we stopped in the carpark adjacent tonthe five bats which is actually nicer , nice and quite, really nice spot , cant fault it. No electric where we are but didnt need it.
Great free stopover, 5 bays with hedge boundaries and planty of additional parking in adjacent parking area. Was full by evening when we stayed. Services all in order (water payable) Bins Very quiet at night. Citadel a stone's throw away. Can recommend.
Excellent stopover. Spent one night here, extremely quiet and had a great night's sleep. Filled up with water and emptied toilet cassette with no trouble. Toilet was basic, no seat etc. 15 minute walk took us to Lidl. Lovely walk around the Citadel, which is about 1.5km. Thoroughly recommend if you are in the area.
Great aire in the Citadel car park. We didn't use the facilities but they do work. Avoid the pitch next to the service point if it's hot weather as it does pong a bit. If the 5/6 places are full you can park on the grass field next to it. The town is strange but worth a visit. It's a mix of amazing old buildings, the citadel and some nice shops. It feels like it needs a little investment but the people are very welcoming. There are several supermarkets and petrol stations in the town. The nighttime silhouette of the Citadel walls is amazing. Very quiet at night and a great place to wake up.
As others have said, cracking place to stay for a night. Safe and lots of other campers there too. The public toilets open at 10am and choose about 6ish There are still 3 other supermarkets so don't worry about Aldi not being open currently.
2nd time here for us. plenty of space in the parking area and easy downhill routes to the town taking about 15 mins. town a little disappointing tbh. lacking quaintness if that's what you're looking for. toilets open during the day.
As others have said a pleasant, safe spot. We didn’t manage yo get a offical place but the flat car park was well used by motohomes and campervans of all sizes. Toilets and services were clean and in working order. The town is ok but nothing special. We ate an evening meal at Au Gourmand. The menu was limited but the food was well cooked. The citadel was impressive to walk around although, as we have a dog, we didn’t go in. One thing to note was that the Town’s Aldi store has been demolished! It looks like a new store is to be built on the same site but Google Maps has not been updated and shows that it was open!
All the official spots take on our visit but there is a huge parking area in front of the castle so no issues. The castle is very impressive and worth a look at . Village looks so so .
A nice quiet overnight stop. Sadly the fresh water was switched off probably due to it being winter and the toilets were closed. We parked in one of the beech lined bays but found the tree branches hung low so risked scratching the Motorhome as we reversed in. We would return though.
